Rev. Kris Alexander is a visionary catalyst, pioneering the path of possibility and social transformation. As a spiritual maverick and global change-maker, she unapologetically embraces her role as a truth-teller. Rev. Kris is dedicated to exploring the intricate intersections between the mystical and the mundane, together with the sacred and the profane. With curiosity and authenticity, she has a remarkable ability to hold paradoxes and perceive life from multiple perspectives, championing the power of honest, love-infused interactions. Her unwavering commitment to fostering personal and collective growth leads her to engage in the essential, often challenging conversations needed for positive change. Rev. Kris firmly believes in the fundamental rights of all individuals—freedom, love, respect, equality, safety, and happiness—and she strives to embody these values in every facet of her life.

Rev. Kris has been a spiritual seeker her whole life. She grew up a fundamental Christian, and was often “that child” in Sunday School asking questions like “How can heaven be perfect if not all my friends go there?” For as long as she can remember she has had unexplainable mystical experiences that supported her in never losing her Faith, even as her beliefs shifted. She discovered New Thought at the age of 19, through late night conversations with friends and a thirst for knowledge that took her deeply into esoteric research. This study eventually led her to Unity of Houston, where she was surprised to find a community of individuals who believed the same way she did, despite most of her beliefs being a (what she thought was made-up) amalgamation of her research.

At Unity of Houston, Rev. Kris had an insatiable thirst for knowledge an experience, taking many of the classes offered on anything and everything from Metaphysics to Silent Meditation to science and psychology - and everything in between. She also became deeply involved in the Oneness Deeksha Movement, being initiated as a Blessing Giver. This experience led her to have many mystical and out of body experiences for several years. She was fascinated by Eastern traditions and began attending a Hindu temple where she fell in love with the rituals, ancient wisdom, and love that she found.

In 2012, Rev. Kris moved home to Asheville, NC and began attending Center for Spiritual Living Asheville. She also worked at a Tantric Temple and became a Licensed Tantrica in Essence Tantra. She realized that Tantra, being primarily a spiritual practice based in the heart and body, combined with Science of Mind, a teaching of the head and heart, could be joined together to provide a powerful and truly holistic spiritual practice. While studying to become a Tantrica, Rev. Kris realized that she was queer dove into understanding and learning more about who she is and what authenticity means to her. This has continued to be an evolving and deepening journey of self-discovery.

She joined the leadership team for the NextGEN Retreat in 2015 and it was at that retreat that she knew she wanted to be a Science of Mind minister. This became her single-minded focus from then on. Rev. Kris licensed as a Science of Mind Practitioner through CSL Asheville in 2017 and moved to Napa, CA to pursue ministerial school in 2018. She completed the 2 year ministerial program and graduated in 2020. She licensed as a CSL Minister, moved to Northern Virginia, and accepted the pulpit at Celebration Center for Spiritual Living within a week in January 2021.

Rev. Kris continues to study and learn new practices, traditions, and wisdom from a rich variety of teachings and people. She has studied Creation Spirituality, Transformative Justice, Anarchism, Social Justice and Black Lives Matter, Emergent Strategy, Body Positivity, Paganism, and more. She is a avid follower of adrienne maree brown, Brené Brown, Octavia Butler, Christopher Uhl, and more. To learn more about her influences, click here
